Kaelyn Marie - Costume Design & Technology
Kaelyn Marie is a costume designer and technician from Knoxville, TN. She received a BA with a focus in illustration from Walla Walla University and graduated with an MFA in costume design and technology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in the spring of 2025.
Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of sources, including art history, fashion trends, and evocative imagery - I endeavor to create costumes that are not only visually striking but also deeply rooted in the text. Whether designing for period dramas, or contemporary plays, I am committed to pushing boundaries and stepping outside of the box to create costumes that are authentic, imaginative, and thought-provoking.
I work meticulously to ensure that every costume detail – from fabric selection to embellishments – aligns seamlessly with the overall design concept and serves the needs of the production. Equally important to me is the comfort and confidence of the actors, as I strive to create costumes that facilitate their performances and allow them to fully embody their characters on stage.
Ultimately, my goal as a costume designer is to collaborate closely with fellow storytellers to create memorable theatrical experiences that transport audiences to new worlds, and leave lasting impressions long after the final curtain falls.
